Mike has been a licensed real estate professional since the mid 1980’s. When he first became interested in the residential real estate business there was no industry acknowledgement of the special needs of older adults who have lived in their homes for many years. Now many consider him the “go-to” authority in helping senior parents transition into a different lifestyle. His passion in helping seniors and their families make life-changing transitions was fostered by his own experience with his elderly parents and caring for his aunt “Evelyn”.
Since then, education has caught up with senior’s special needs, and Mike has taken advantage of the specialized certification. His training as a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) and certification as a Certified Senior Advisor® (CSA) coupled with his specialized experience has allowed Mike to focus his business on the needs of seniors and their families when moving from their long-time homes.
Mike was raised on a small farm in north central Indiana by honest and hardworking parents who took great pride in their home and family. Mike developed a great work ethic along with honesty, character and accountability through long hours riding an old John Deere “A” tractor and helping his father take care of the family’s livestock. Mike attended Indiana University in Bloomington studying clinical psychology and served in the US Navy as a flight deck corpsman aboard the USS Nimitz.
Mike is married to the love of his life, Pam. They have two sons, three granddaughters and a silky terrier named “Pistol”.
